MEIG
Program Scholarships
The
MEIG Program, organized by the University of Geneva in cooperation with the
United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), combines the academic excellence of the
University of Geneva, the Center for European Legal Studies and the Institute
of Global Studies with the experience of professionals. from various
international organizations and organizations based in Geneva and Brussels. The
program lasts 10 months (September to July).
The
MEIG is structured into 10 thematic and methodological modules followed by a
final project. After two core modules dealing with the functioning of the United
Nations system and European Union institutions, the MEIG covers a wide range of
thematic areas such as human rights and migration; peace, security and
humanitarian affairs; digital governance; international trade and development;
health and environment; climate change as well as the public-private alliance
for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Program Scholarships
A
variety of different scholarships are offered to help cover tuition costs.
All
candidates for the Master’s program “European and International Governance” are
eligible to apply for scholarships. Scholarship applications for incoming
participants must be submitted with the applicant’s application.
If
awarded, the amount of financial aid is calculated based on the financial
situation of the candidate, as indicated on the scholarship application form.
Applicants are emphasized to give out as much information as possible to provide
a complete picture of their financial situation, as well as that of their
parents and/or spouse.

Requirements
Applicants
must meet the following criteria:
Holder
a bachelor’s degree (international relations, political science, law or
economics) with at least second-class upper division level;
ii.
Mastery of the English language; And
III.
Fluently in English language.
Scholarship
coverage
This
scholarship is partial. If awarded, the amount of financial aid is calculated
based on the financial situation of the candidate, as indicated on the scholarship
application form. Other expenses are the responsibility of the candidate.
Our
sponsor has established strict eligibility criteria:
• Demonstrated financial need from
applicants, as well as their immediate and extended family members, employers,
and anyone else who might otherwise have contributed to financing their
education.
•
Fail to obtain loans or grants from all other available sources, including
employers, banks, governments and private providers.
An
applicant must submit the following required documents as part of the
evaluation process:
Completed
and signed application form;
ii.
Certificates and academic records with official sworn translation into English
or French, when not originally in English, French, German, Italian or Spanish;
III.
Two letters of recommendation (referee reports);
IV.
Cover letter/personal statement demonstrating the candidate’s interest in the
field of governance in English (maximum 500 words);
v.
An updated CV (in English) with a headshot;

Copy of passport or identity document (personal data page);

Official TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge scores; Please make sure you do not download
the original exam result, as it is a protected PDF file and we cannot open it
(print it and scan it again); And
viii.
Copy of certificates or other proof of past and present professional positions.
