Nafasi Za Kujiunga Na Jeshi La JWTZ 2024| TANZANIA CITIZENS’ DEFENSE FORCE (JWTZ)
JWTZ was established on 01 September 1964 with the aim of protecting the independence of the country and the borders of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Vision of JWTZ
Having a small, strong Army of Leaders and Professionals with modern tools and weapons, high readiness in the defense of the country of Tanzania.
Liability of JWTZ
Protecting the country and defending the interests of the Tanzanian Nation, providing support to civil authorities and facilitating the achievement of National and International goals.
Basic Responsibilities of JWTZ
• Protecting the Constitution and Freedom of the United Republic of Tanzania.
• Protection of the Borders of the United Republic of Tanzania.
• Conducting Training and Exercises to prepare for Combat at all times.
• Teaching the public National Defense activities.
• Cooperating with Civil Authorities in providing humanitarian aid and rescue during disasters.
• Promoting independent education and production through the Nation Building Force (JKT).
• Participating in International Peacekeeping activities.
Procedure to join JWTZ
Enrollment
Any person will be enlisted to join the Tanzania People’s Defense Force (JWTZ) with the following qualifications:-
Be a citizen of Tanzania
He should have education of form four and continue and he should be successful..
Be single/unmarried
He should be between 18 and 25 years old
He should have good character and conduct
May he be of sound mind and good health


Terms of Service
The soldier will be given a service number after passing the initial training.
He will serve the Army for an initial period of six years, after which he will work on a two-year contract with the approval of the Chief of Army Staff.
Officers
Officers Selection Board
interviews Soldiers with sixth form education and beyond from the Forces and Schools for new Soldiers (Recruitment Schools).
Those who pass the interview are given the status of Officer Cadet, and are sent to the College (Tanzania Military Academy) for officer training for a period of one year.
