The general public is
hereby informed that the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program for the
academic year 2024/2025 is open to Tanzanians eligible to pursue Bachelor’s,
Master’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Hungary. Interested candidates are

Candidates for the
Students at Risk Subprogram are asked to carefully read paragraph 4 of the
Application Notice, which contains the special conditions that apply to them.
We would also like to
share with you that the Stipendium Hungaricum online application system is
expected to open in mid-November 2023.
Scope of the program
Program Mission The
Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian
government with the aim of providing opportunities for international students
to pursue higher studies in Hungary.
The main mission of the
program is to increase the number of international students in Hungary and
encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract the best
international students. The scholarship program is administered by the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs and Trade and coordinated by the Tempus Public Foundation.
Study levels
Study Levels Stipendium
Hungaricum Scholarships are available for Bachelor’s, Master’s, Single-Level
Master’s, Doctorate, Non-Degree programs (preparatory courses) and specialized
postgraduate courses. Please note that this Call for Applications is only for
bachelor’s, master’s, single-level master’s, non-degree and specialized
postgraduate programs. See the Call for Applications for the PhD level here.
Important note: applications are only accepted for bachelor’s degrees, master’s
degrees, one-tier master’s degrees, non-degree programs and specialized
postgraduate training courses OR doctoral programs; therefore, carefully
consider the program(s) you select.
Application requirements
Candidates must meet the
following criteria:
I. Advanced Certificate
of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with division one or two or Diploma
with minimum Upper Second Class pass (for degree candidates);
ii. Relevant Bachelor’s
degree with upper second class (for Master’s candidates);
iii. Relevant master’s
degree with minimum Upper Second Class (for doctoral students); It is
iv. English language
proficiency skills.
List of documents to be
presented
The candidate must submit
the online application form with the following supporting documents as part of
the assessment process:
I. Certified copies of
certificates and academic transcripts;
ii. Letter of interest;
iii. Proof of language
proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL Certificate);
Copy of valid
passport;
v. Research plan (for
doctoral students); Two signed letters
of recommendation (from the candidate’s former or current academic tutor(s) or
supervisor(s) for doctoral candidates; and
viii. Medical
certificate.
Provisions covered by the
Exchange
The scholarship will
cover:
I. Exemption from paying
bribes;
ii. Monthly scholarship;
iii. Accommodation; It is
Medical insurance.
These provisions
constitute only a contribution towards the living expenses of the fellows.

loan or grant from the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania for
candidates to whom this scholarship will be offered; any extra costs must be
borne by the parents/candidates.

will officially open from 15th November 2023 and the deadline for submitting
the completed online application is 15th January 2024, 2pm (Central Europe).
