TAMISEMI New 23000 Teachers Employment 2024
The
Office of the President TAMISEMI is the only ministry whose headquarters
started in Dodoma since the early 70s, since the government announced that the
seat of government was Dodoma and in Dar es Salaam there was a small office.
The presence of the headquarters in Dodoma was aimed at providing equal
opportunities to its key stakeholders, including the regions and local
authorities, to easily reach Dodoma when following the various services.
About TAMISEMI
Since
1961, the Office of the President – TAMISEMI has been an independent ministry,
a ministry under the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the
President as it is today. The decision as to where it will be placed was made
to strengthen the performance of this office.
The
purpose of the existence of local governments is to transfer powers to the
citizens, which originates from the Constitution of the United Republic of
Tanzania 1977 in Chapter 8, Articles 145 and 146. The transfer of power to the
citizens is done through through local government. Authorities and therefore
local governments and citizen participation in the development process have
been identified in the Constitution and laws of the United Republic of
Tanzania.
When
our country gained independence, there were ten administrative states inherited
from British colonial rule in 1966. The first president, Julius Kambarage
Nyerere, with the authority given to him, created 15 regions and abolished the
system division of the country into states. So far, our country has 26 regions,
139 districts, 184 councils, 570 divisions, 3,956 wards, 12,319 villages,
64,384 municipalities and 4,263 streets. After independence there were a total
of 45 councils and until 2009 there were 129 councils and they continued to
increase until reaching 184 in 2021.

Minister
Mchengerwa announced the government’s decision today, Saturday 06 January 2024,
while closing the working session of Administrative Secretaries, Education
Assistants and Education Officers of the Council held at the Glonency 88 Hotel,
Morogoro .
“For
this month of January and February, the Presidency of the Republic, TAMISEMI,
we have the work permit and we will soon announce the employment of almost
23,000 teachers and health workers, the Government has also managed to promote
the grades and grades of approximately 227,263 teachers and pay new teachers
their fees and now The government continues to review all teachers who have
delayed their promotion to ensure that they are placed in the positions and
grades they deserve” – Mchengerwa
Meanwhile,
Minister Mchengerwa said the government spends about 33.3 billion every month
to ensure free education in the country while for the 2022/2023 financial year,
the government has hired 13,000 teachers and sent to areas with shortages in
order to reduce the number of teachers. burden on teachers
Mchengerwa
used the meeting to urge teachers to work hard and put the interests of
Tanzanians first as the government continues to cater to all their interests,
including protecting them and improving infrastructure in the education sector.

The
responsibilities of OR-TAMISEMI are implemented at the headquarters, regions
and local government authorities. Based on the Presidential Instrument on
Division of Labor (Presidential Instrument) issued by the President in April
2016, the responsibilities of OR-TAMISEMI include:-
i)
Coordinate the implementation of urban and rural development policy and the
delegation of powers to the public (D by D);
ii)
Coordinate urban services such as transport, water and sanitation;
iii)
Manage the Teachers Services Commission;
iv)
Coordinate and manage the Regional Administrations so that they can enable the
Councils to exercise their functions;
v)
Coordinate the management and operation of primary and secondary schools s
of the country through local government authorities (MSM);
vi) Strengthen the capacities of OR-TAMISEMI employees
so that they can effectively perform their duties; And
vii) Manage the performance of organizations,
institutions, programs and projects under OR-TAMISEMI
